These digital collages come from a series that draws from antique books and natural structures. The three featured here combine marbled paper and photography. Many of the collages I’ve made in the past include people and suggest narratives. This set moves towards abstraction to play with new senses of place and time.
ANDREW BALES is a writer, artist, and software developer. His fiction has been awarded the 2018 Mississippi Review Prize and appeared with Electric Literature, Tin House, Gargoyle, Passages North, and other publications. He is a PhD candidate in the creative writing program at the University of Cincinnati.
