ANNA JOY SPRINGER is the author of The Birdwisher and The Vicious Red Relic, Love as well as many shorter works of visual literature and prose. She recorded and performed with queer punk bands Blatz, The Gr’ups, and Cypher in the Snow and toured with the feminist spoken word troupe, Sister Spit. Raised working-class among aviaries in agricultural parts of California, she currently works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Literature at UC San Diego, where she directs its MFA Program in cross-genre writing.
