Move Over Swan Necks

          and sea turtle throats,
there's a credit card
worth of plastic gestating
in my stomach
like a fetus
and I’m licking my lips,
hungry with thoughts
to ensure it goes platinum.
I’m the next sexy synthetic
stage in evolution. Goodbye
overrated organicity, sun-kissed
sweat glands. I’m draped
in venomous glitter, a jet black
pleather choker, heart gagged
with great value
grocery bags. You can vacuum
every sip of air
from my rubber body
suit, total eclipse
of the man.
Who could have predicted
the danger
in an innocent
tupperware container?
How it’d wiggle its way
inside us, vinyl shards
in the womb, vision worms
pooling the brain,
mistakes trapped
in our ruby red
flesh, a slow mold,
pristine new
poison. Go ahead
and give in,
lick the water bottle
dry, devour
the candy wrapper,
delicious sandwich bags dissolving
on the tongue like strawberry
pixie sticks. I’m growing
more plastic by the day,
intestinal silicon, cling film rubbing
on the pores, fusing
with evergreen
mint chewing gum
and blood-stained
toothbrush bristles.
Let’s look at the positives,
we’ll melt grandpa
into a lego,
stack him
onto the other once-
biological beings
until they createa beautiful set:
dying forests, polluted
rivers, what happened
to the birds again?
Careful
every caress
and it loves you more,
finds comfort
in your skin. One day
we will all ascend together
into a beautiful pile
of goop. Tears too thick
to escape, no more sins
for our angel
-carved bodies, no more
gorgeous decomposition.
We got something better,
a whole world
smashed
under a fine layer of film,
one we can finally appreciate.
